A unique tribute to Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II

a one of a kind
'objet d’art'

For seventy years, during a period of great change in Britain, the Commonwealth and internationally, Queen Elizabeth II loyally carried out her duties as Sovereign, Head of State, and Ambassador of the principles of loyalty, freedom, friendship and peace.

Queen Elizabeth II was an inspiration for many generations, embodying the virtues which guided her through the past seven decades and which are celebrated in this rare and exceptional tribute. I had the idea to embark on a mission to include all British citizens as well as all those fascinated and engrossed by Queen Elizabeth II and the history of Britain in an inclusive way to share in her achievement.

This collection, minted by the East India Company bears five effigies, the official portraits, of Queen Elizabeth II. 11 proof legal tender 999.9 gold coins made up of a 1kg gold coin and ten 24 karat 1oz gold coins featuring the personifications of the six virtues as featured on the Victoria Memorial outside Buckingham Palace, widely acknowledged and embodied as guiding principles set down by Queen Victoria and carried forward by Queen Elizabeth II.

As Queen and Monarch of the British Empire for 70 years, Queen Elizabeth II’s reign remains unrivalled in modern times and incomparable to that of any Sovereign in the history of Great Britain and such likely never to occur in the generations to come.

the inspiration

Britain’s longest reigning Monarch, our Queen,
The Queen

On 2 June 1953, a young and humble Princess Elizabeth stepped in to Westminster Abbey to swear an oath, affirm the Church and rule with wisdom, honour and mercy, just as every British Monarch had before her, since 1066.

It was to mark the beginning of the second Elizabethan era and a reign unlike any other.During her record breaking 70 years as Sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II bore witness to seismic changes in technology, culture, and our way of life as well as some of the most significant moments in modern history.

Remaining steadfast, true to her oath and guided by her unfaltering faith, she remained a constant in an ever-transforming world. Queen Elizabeth II was not however old fashioned or archaic. In fact, her willingness to modernise, change and adapt, became the cornerstone of her ability to guide, lead, and nurture her people through large periods of great uncertainty and change.
